Heart Children New Zealand is proud to be the official charity of the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge. We think it is a fabulous way to get your children active and involved in cycling at an early age.
This event also provides your children with the opportunity to learn about helping others, set up a fundraising page via www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/heartchildren in support of the 9 babies who have open heart surgery every week. Good luck with the training, we look forward to meeting you in Taupo!

Heart Children New Zealand Heart Riders

• Ride approx 5 km from Rainbow Point (opposite Ploughman's Restaurant) into town
• Aged 10 years or under
• Special prize draw for Heart Riders only
• Electronic transponders used for timing
• Complete a separate form and name the adult who will be the escort
• The escort must be a Solo or Relay rider, aged 18 or over, and must be an entrant in the Challenge. S/he is to be fully responsible for the Heart Rider. Another adult must transport the Heart Rider to the Ploughman’s Arms, and then stay until the escort arrives to take over responsibility.
• No vehicles are to be driven alongside the Heart Rider.
• Not eligible for the major spot prizes

• Ultra light transponder easily attached to your bike
• Transponders are loaned to you so there is a $50 replacement charge for those not returned by 10 days after the event.
• Do not switch transponders with anyone else
