Bike NZ Solo
The Solo Challenge is the essence of the Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, a one lap circuit of Lake Taupo of approximately 160 km. The cost of entry is $80
The Course
The Course starts and finishes next to Taupo's Great
Lake Centre and heads in an anti-clockwise direction around
Lake Taupo, which is 357 m above sea level. The highest
point on the course is at 650 m.
The event caters for riders of all abilities and no special equipment is required, just a helmet, a safe bike and the determination to finish.
The Start 7:15am
As a safety measure, the start of the solo ride is split into different starting groups. Choose your group carefully and realistically. The groups start in "waves". Times are recorded by the transponder as you cross the start and finish lines so no group will be disadvantaged.
No accompanying vehicles are necessary or allowed. See
Conditions of Entry
